Teacher Reflection

When thinking about our continuing topic(s) this week, I was thinking about reflection as a teacher.  I remember reflecting in writing all through my core undergrad classes through student teaching.  When becoming a teacher in my own classroom, the reflection got less formal (i.e. didn't come in the form of writing), however it is always there.  I am constantly reflecting on lessons, set up, and monitoring and adjusting as needed, or jotting down in lesson plans, on original copies, what needs to be modified for next time.  All of this made me think of a book I read originally a few years ago called Educating Esme.  It is a book written by a teacher during her first year of teaching, in a diary form.  I think it was such a great read to read as a new teacher (and really any teacher), as well as causes reflection in myself as you read another teacher's reflections.
